Tots started out with a mother of seven, (yes, seven) creating a few custom pieces for her children.
As a mother you don’t have much time to yourself, I guess that goes without saying. So, as my children grew older I found more time for myself and decided to take a chance to pursue my passion for creating.
Unbeknown if others would appreciate my creations I began by offering a few scratch mitten designs online.
For many years I created, I tested new materials, designs, produced many items - testing quality, durability, safety, comfort, I trialled many, many products. Yet, I continued to sell the same style mittens online.
To be totally honest, I had no idea how to expand. How to introduce new items, confidently create listings, take good quality picture content. Oh yeah, and work out correct postage costs! But, I knew I wanted to find my audience, get my items noticed and provide that special something for customers wanting good quality, personal, affordable designs.
So, how do you reach YOUR audience, showcase your products and be noticed without having social media or chatting online?! Because that’s the way forward now and it is definitely something I knew nothing about and certainly didn’t feel comfortable with.
Then, along came my daughter, making visions a reality! Taking on the socials, creating an image for the brand, creating our own domain (yes, I know what a domain is) She began building the small business I had always dreamt of.
In the space of a year we have had over 4000 sales! We continue to grow in the world of social media and seem to be recognised for our work more so than ever! We have built up a huge range of products (which are continuously growing!!) and even have our own brand reps who post about our items daily and give REAL FEEDBACK on our work!
As a team we work extremely well together, each bringing our own input into the business. We discuss ideas, designs, explore new options and document it all on our Instagram & Pinterest! I honestly had no idea how much social media could impact a business and its growth, until now. How sharing daily life, issues, successes and failures can bring people together and find support not just for your business but for each other.
